Hit Week, active since 2009, is considered the most important festival dedicated exclusively to the diffusion of the Italian music system in the world.
During the eighteen previous editions held in the United States, South America, Asia and Europe, all the major Italian artists performed in some of the most iconic places in the world. Thanks in particular to the "business oriented" activities of the festival, they were able to say their career and spread their catalog outside of Italy.
One of the missions of Hit Week has always been to create opportunities even for non-established artists who, thanks to a virtuous system focused on involving the music industry of the individual countries where the event takes place, and to the simultaneous presence of artists considered "big" have managed to achieve a visibility otherwise difficult to obtain abroad and to affirm their career and spread their catalog in those territories.
The edition n.19 of the festival is scheduled between 17 and 21 October 2025 in the United States in the cities of Miami and Los Angeles.
A Unique cast of talents
Recognized worldwide as one of the coolest projects on the Italian alternative music scene, CALIBRO 35 (Massimo Martellotta, Enrico Gabrielli, Fabio Rondanini and Tommaso Colliva) have become an essential point of reference both nationally and internationally. Originally conceived as a project exploring the sounds of the golden age of Italian film scores, in just over fifteen years they have released no fewer than eight albums, composed numerous soundtracks — including the acclaimed TV series Blanca — curated the sound design for Radio Uno and IsoRadio, and created special projects celebrating iconic and lesser-known music alike, such as the monumental Scacco al Maestro dedicated to Ennio Morricone.
Their music has been sampled by hip-hop heavyweights like Jay-Z, Dr. Dre, and Timbaland, and they have shared the stage with artists such as Sharon Jones, Thundercat, Sun Ra Arkestra, Muse, JET, and many others.
Their latest studio release, Exploration - the ninth album in their discography - came out on June 6th, 2025, on the independent label Record Kicks, with Roberto Dragonetti on bass.
An album that marks a return to their roots while embracing new sonic possibilities, Exploration represents an evolution deeply rooted in the band’s extensive experience with film scores and performances at festivals across Italy and Europe. It pushes their style beyond the confines of jazz, transforming their signature sound into a limitless musical journey — the natural progression from their previous EP Jazzploitation.
They recently composed the soundtracks for the new seasons of Sandokan and Blanca 3 (Lux Vide), two major Rai 1 productions set to be released in fall 2025, further cementing their role as a leading name in music for visual media.
Joan Thiele is a versatile singer-songwriter and producer who became one of the breakout stars of the 2025 Sanremo Music Festival. She spent her childhood between Colombia and Italy. Her musical world blends R&B, soul, jazz influences, and an international flair, with a cinematic feel reminiscent of Italian film soundtracks from the ‘60s and ‘70s, drawing inspiration from composers like Piero Umiliani and Piero Piccioni.
Her musical and visual style is always original, proving that a fresh, experimental approach to pop music is possible. This unique sonic awareness, first explored in her EP Operazione Oro, took further shape in Atti—a three-part release that revealed a strong connection to cinema and personal identity.
In May 2023, she won the David di Donatello Award for Best Original Song with Proiettili, featured in the film Ti mangio il cuore, which premiered at the 79th Venice International Film Festival.
In 2025, Joan Thiele made her debut among the major acts competing at the Sanremo Festival with her song Eco, a critically and publicly acclaimed success. Eco is a call to face one’s fears and overcome them—a manifesto for standing up for one’s beliefs.
In February 2025, she released Joanita, her first full-length album in Italian. The record is a sonic journey through her roots and memories, expressing deep emotions through music. The common thread throughout the album is music for cinema, especially the works of Maestro Piero Umiliani. Joan had the rare opportunity to study his work closely, thanks to a collaboration with the Umiliani family, who granted her access to their studio and private archive.
The electric guitar—central to the album and Joan’s trusted companion since her teenage years—embodies her energy and passion. The guitars she plays are handcrafted by Joan herself in collaboration with designer Marco Guazzini, using Marwoolous, an innovative material made from marble and wool. These one-of-a-kind instruments are an essential part of both her live performances and the album, highlighting the fusion of visual and musical art.
On June 27, she released her new single, Allucinazione—a bold statement of identity. It’s a powerful track that celebrates freedom as a radical, everyday choice. Joan weaves her voice with her signature cinematic and Mediterranean sound, distorted guitars, and hypnotic beats that evoke nocturnal, sandy, ritualistic landscapes.
In May, she also returned to the stage with her Joanita Tour 2025—a tour spanning over 20 dates across Italy’s major cities and festivals.
